Naturalist adds several unique drops that are not food and not blocks — they come from specific animals and are used for decoration or
crafting. Knowing which animal gives what saves a lot of guesswork.
Common Drops and Their Sources
Antler — dropped by deer (and similar antlered animals). Deer shed
antlers naturally over time, so check your enclosure periodically rather than killing them.
Snail Shell — dropped by
snails.
Snails also lay
Snail Eggs, which you can collect and hatch.
Lizard Tail — dropped by lizards. Lizards can regrow their tails, so a single lizard can supply multiple tails if you are patient.
Glow Goop — associated with glowing creatures like
fireflies; useful for light-related
crafting.
Chrysalis — produced by
caterpillars as they prepare to become
butterflies.
Farming Drops Safely
1. Pen the animal in a small enclosure so drops land in a known spot.
2.
3. For egg-type drops (
snail eggs,
tortoise eggs,
alligator eggs,
ostrich eggs), collect the egg and place it where you want it to hatch.
4. Store drops in a labelled chest;
antlers and shells are easy to confuse with junk otherwise.
Uses
Antlers and shells are primarily decorative and
crafting ingredients.
Glow Goop ties into light sources, and
Chrysalis is part of the
butterfly lifecycle.
