Regions Unexplored wood comes in many species, and the Macaw's compatibility means each one can be turned into the full range of Macaw's doors, trapdoors, fences, roofs, bridges, and furniture. Your job is to collect logs from each species you want to build with.

Finding the trees

Every wood type has a matching biome or biome family. Ashen wood grows in ashen biomes with grey foliage. Alpha wood grows in alpha biomes. Apple Oak grows in apple oak biomes and its leaves drop apples. Palm, Joshua, and Socotra grow in warm biomes. Willow and Cypress prefer wet areas. Larch, Pine, Redwood, Maple, Magnolia, Kapok, Eucalyptus, Baobab, Blackwood, Dead, Duskmelon, and Wisteria each have their own home biome — explore until you find a tree whose leaves and trunk shape don't match anything vanilla.

Turning logs into Macaw's blocks

Chop logs, craft them into planks, then use the Macaw's crafting interfaces exactly as you would with oak. The RU planks slot into the same recipes. Bring a stack of each plank type back to your base and set up a dedicated Macaw's workbench area so you can swap wood species quickly while building.

Sapling farming

Collect saplings from leaf decay and plant them near your base. A small tree farm per species means you never have to travel back to a rare biome just for more logs.
