Regions Unexplored adds a large set of new biomes on top of vanilla generation, so the fastest way to see them is to explore rather than expect them near spawn.

Scouting efficiently

Craft a boat and follow coastlines and rivers — many RU biomes border water, so traveling by boat exposes you to more biome edges per minute than walking. Bring a bed, food, and a spare set of tools. If you have access to commands, /locate biome with an RU biome ID is the quickest confirmation that a biome exists in your world seed.

Reading the landscape

Each biome has a signature tree and ground cover. Ashen biomes use grey, charred-looking logs and leaves with ash vents on the ground. Alpha biomes use pale, almost washed-out foliage. Apple Oak biomes drop apples from their leaves. Palm and Joshua biomes appear in warm, dry areas. Socotra and Baobab trees are thick-trunked and unmistakable. Duskmelon grows in specific biomes and can be sliced for food.

Recording what you find

Place a sign or a colored banner at each biome border you cross, and note the coordinates. Because RU biomes can be rare, marking them saves you from re-searching later when you need a specific wood type for Macaw's building sets.
