Regions Unexplored adds several edible plants that are worth farming for both food and decoration.

Duskmelon

Duskmelon grows in its home biome and can be sliced into Duskmelon Slice for eating. Find a Duskmelon in the wild, harvest it, and bring it back to your base. Plant it on farmland the way you would a vanilla melon and let it spread. Slices are a reliable snack food for exploration.

Salmonberry

Salmonberry is a bush-borne berry. Harvest the berries from wild bushes and replant the bush near your base. Berries are quick to eat and stack well, making them good travel food. Use them in a small berry farm alongside sweet berries for variety.

Hanging Earlight Fruit

Hanging Earlight Fruit grows as a hanging plant. Harvest it carefully — it's both a food source and a light-emitting decoration, so it's worth keeping some in place for ambient lighting in builds. Break only what you need and let the rest regrow.

Apple Oak

Apple Oak leaves drop apples when broken or decayed. Plant Apple Oak Saplings near your base and let the trees mature — you get a renewable apple supply without hunting for vanilla oak. Apples are also useful for trading and for golden apple crafting.

Setting up the farm

Keep all four crops in one walled garden near your kitchen or storage room so harvesting is a single trip.
