If you’ve ever found yourself bored once you mine down to lava because it stops hostile mobs from spawning, then this is the mod for you! This is a small mod that adds a new hostile monster to the game that spawns in lava and spits fireballs at you. Lava monsters’ spawning conditions can be adjusted in a handy-dandy properties file!

The Lava Monster has been completely overhauled and ported to 26.1!

26.1 Changes

• Brand new idle, hurt, and death sounds
• Sounds for walking outside of lava
• Lava Monsters now laugh when successfully hitting a target
• Added a new bite attack for close range, complete with animation
• Fully redone animations for walking and swimming
• Added the Lava Walking potion, a rare drop from the monster
• Added the ability to bucket the monsters, which does half of their max health in damage
• Added new step particles when the fire trail is disabled
• Added a new spawn egg texture, made by L200

Can I use this in my modpack?

Yes, you definitely can. Just make to provide credit to all the authors respectively and link back to the CurseForge page.

Can I redistribute this mod onto other platforms?

Yes, as long as all downloads point directly to our CurseForge page and proper credit is given to the authors.

Will you port to older versions?

We focus on the latest "drop" release of each year (26.1, 27.1, 28.1, etc.), and unfortunately we don't have the time to backport. Older versions remain available to play, but aren't supported. The source is open for reporting bugs and reviewing the code, but we don't accept backports, contributions, or third-party redistribution of our work.
