Frequently asked questions

How do I craft a plane?
Planes are crafted using wood and other materials specific to each plane type. Check the crafting recipe in your crafting table or JEI/NEI for the exact ingredients needed for the plane you want to build.
Why won't my plane take off?
Your plane needs enough speed to generate lift. Hold B to brake, then hold I while still holding B to increase throttle, then release B and let the plane accelerate until it lifts off naturally.
How do I refuel my plane?
Planes use fuel from the Ultimate Car Mod and can be refueled at gas stations added by that mod. Make sure you have Ultimate Car Mod installed for fuel and gas station access.
Can I fly a plane with friends?
Yes, the Normal Plane holds 3 players and the Cargo Plane holds 2 players. The Bush Plane only holds 1 player. Additional players can sit in the plane once you're flying.
What's the difference between the three plane types?
The Bush Plane is fastest and most efficient but holds only 1 player with no storage. The Normal Plane balances speed and storage for 3 players with 27 slots. The Cargo Plane prioritizes storage (81 total slots) for 2 players but is less maneuverable.
How do I land without crashing?
Reduce throttle with K, fly slowly toward a runway, decrease your vertical speed as you approach the ground, then hold B to brake once you touch down. If you're going too fast, you may need to take off again and try another approach.
How do I pick up and move a plane?
Hit the plane with a plane wrench to pick it up as an item. The wrench will lose half its durability when breaking a plane.
Can I name my plane?
Yes, name the plane item in an anvil before placing it, and it will keep that name when you fly it.
My plane keeps stalling mid-flight. How do I fix this?
You're flying too slowly. Increase your throttle with I or dive slightly using W to maintain airspeed. Stalling happens when you lose lift, so keep your speed high enough for the plane to stay airborne.
Does this mod work with other mods?
Ultimate Plane Mod requires Ultimate Car Mod for fuel and gas stations. It also supports WAILA/HWYLA for additional information displays. Check mod compatibility lists for other potential interactions.
