How do I get started with Tinkers' Antique if I'm new to Tinkers' Construct?
Start by building a Smeltery using the standard Tinkers' Construct blocks and materials. Once operational, you can begin smelting ores and casting tool parts using the classic materials restored by this mod, including Alumite which requires specific alloy combinations in the smeltery.
What's the best way to get Blazin' Blood early game?
You need a functional Smeltery first. Kill Blazes in the Nether, collect them (or use a mob farm), and melt them directly in your smeltery to produce Blazin' Blood as a byproduct. This fuel burns hotter than standard smeltery fuels, making it ideal for advanced alloys.
Can I melt diamonds in the smeltery or do I need a special setup?
Yes, diamonds can be melted directly in a standard Smeltery. Once melted, pour the molten diamond into a casting mold using a casting table or basin to create diamond ingots, which can then be used for tool parts.
How do I make steel with Blazin' Blood?
Pour Blazin' Blood onto iron ingots placed in a casting basin or casting table. The Blazin' Blood will react with the iron to create steel ingots, which you can then use as tool material or for other crafting recipes.
What happens if I put a finished tool back in the Tool Station?
Placing a completed tool into the output slot of a Tool Station or Tool Forge will deconstruct it into its individual parts (head, handle, guard, etc.), allowing you to recover materials and reuse them for new tools.
Does the Incognito modifier actually remove modifiers from my tool or just hide them?
The Incognito modifier only hides the visual appearance of other applied modifiers on your tool—it does not remove their effects. Your tool keeps all its functionality while appearing unmodified.
Is Tinkers' Antique compatible with my old Tinkers' Construct 2 world?
Yes, this mod is designed as a continuation for older worlds. It restores classic content like Alumite and integrates smoothly with existing Tinkers' Construct 2 installations, though you should always back up your world before adding mods.
Can I adjust smeltery speed or fluid behavior in the config?
Yes, the mod includes deep configuration options where you can tweak smeltery speeds, liquid flow rates, and other mechanical behaviors to suit your playstyle or server needs.
Why is my tool disappearing when I use the magnetic trait?
This was a known bug in older versions. Tinkers' Antique includes a built-in fix for the magnetic trait void issue, so update to the latest version if you're experiencing item loss.
Does this mod add new villages or just restore old ones?
The mod brings back old village structures with support for modded building blocks, allowing for more varied and integrated village generation. It doesn't add entirely new village types but enhances existing ones with restored content.
