How do I craft the scanner?
Craft the handheld scanner using the recipe found in your crafting menu or JEI/NEI. Once crafted, you'll need to power it with FE energy before it can scan—place it in a charger or connect it to a power source.
Why isn't my scanner working?
Check that your scanner has power (it stores up to 20,000 FE). Also verify you have at least one module installed—the scanner needs a module to know what to search for.
How do I add modules to my scanner?
Open your scanner's GUI and place modules into the available slots. You can install multiple modules at once to scan for different targets simultaneously.
Can I search for a specific mob type?
Yes—use the Living Entity module and configure it with a spawn egg of the mob you want to find. This lets you target specific creatures instead of all mobs.
What's the difference between Common Ores and Rare Ores modules?
Common Ores highlights standard underground resources like iron and copper, while Rare Ores targets valuable deep-level ores and modded ores. Use both modules together for complete ore coverage.
How far can the scanner reach?
The base range depends on your configuration, but you can increase it by installing the Range module to extend how far your scanning wave travels.
Does the scanner work through Bedrock?
The scanner highlights targets through solid blocks and terrain, but bedrock acts as a natural boundary—you cannot scan below it.
Why do highlighted blocks disappear after I mine them?
Live Block Updates automatically clear highlights when you remove or replace a detected block, keeping your scan results accurate as you mine.
Can I use this mod with shaders?
Yes, Scannable Reforged is compatible with popular shader setups and won't break your visual overlays or highlighting effects.
How much power does each scan use?
Power consumption varies based on your range and modules installed. The larger battery (20,000 FE capacity) lets you perform multiple scans before needing to recharge.
