Frequently asked questions

How do I craft furniture in this mod?
Most furniture is made at a crafting table using wood planks, wool, and other vanilla materials, with each wood type producing its own variant. Check the recipe book or JEI/REI for the exact layout of the piece you want.
How do I change the wood type of a piece of furniture?
Each wood variant is crafted separately from its own planks, so you can't recolor an existing piece. Craft the version that matches the wood you want, or use a mod like a crafting tweak if you need to convert.
How do I sit on a chair?
Right-click the chair while holding nothing, or simply right-click it, and your player will sit down. Sneak to stand back up.
How do I open a cabinet, drawer, or crate?
Right-click the block to open its inventory or reveal its contents. Storage cabinets, drawers, crates, and storage jars each hold items differently, so try right-clicking and shift-right-clicking to see what each does.
How do I get water into a bath, basin, or kitchen sink?
Place the fixture and then use a water bucket on it, or connect it to a water source depending on the fixture. Sinks and baths hold water for washing and can be emptied by right-clicking with an empty bucket.
How do I make a ceiling fan spin?
Place the fan on a ceiling and give it a redstone signal to turn it on. A lever, button, or redstone block nearby works; removing the signal stops it.
Why won't my furniture place on the ground?
Some pieces need a solid block beneath them or a specific orientation, and chairs, tables, and desks snap to a grid. Make sure you're aiming at a valid surface and that nothing is blocking the space.
Can I use this mod with other furniture or decoration mods?
Yes, it's designed to work alongside other mods, and its blocks are separate from vanilla ones. Just watch for overlapping recipes if another mod uses the same ingredients.
Does this mod cause lag or performance issues?
It's generally lightweight since furniture is mostly static blocks, but large numbers of animated ceiling fans or filled storage blocks can add up. If you notice lag, reduce the number of active fans or storage-heavy areas.
Is this mod available for both Forge and Fabric?
The mod has been released for multiple loaders over its lifetime, so check which version matches your mod loader. If you're on the wrong loader, the mod simply won't appear in your mod list.
