Yes, OptiFine must be installed first. Focal Engine Mod works as an extension to OptiFine's shader system, so both are required for the mod to function.
Why do my shaders look flat or wrong after installing?
Make sure you've enabled shaders in OptiFine's settings and selected a shader pack compatible with Focal Engine (like Continuum). Without an active shader pack, the mod won't apply its advanced graphics effects.
Can I use regular resource packs or do I need PBR packs?
