How do I start cooking in this mod?
What's the difference between a pot and a skillet?
Both are cooking vessels that work on a stove, but they're used for different recipes—some dishes require a pot while others need a skillet. Check your recipe in the advancement tree or by hovering over the item to see which vessel you need.
How do I get rich soil?
Craft rich soil by combining compost materials (like seeds, vegetables, or other organic scraps) on a crafting table or compost block. Once you have rich soil, place it and plant crops on it for faster growth compared to regular farmland.
Can I use a knife for anything besides cutting food?
Yes, knives can also harvest straw from wild grass and gather other plant materials. This makes them useful for gathering resources early on, not just for food preparation.
What new crops does this mod add?
The mod introduces rice, onions, tomatoes, and cabbage as new farmable crops. These can be planted on regular farmland or rich soil and are used in various cooking recipes.
Do I need to follow the advancements to unlock recipes?
No, you can craft recipes without completing advancements, but the advancement tree (press L) is designed to guide you through the mod's progression and show you what's available to cook.
Will this mod work with my other mods?
Farmer's Delight Legacy is designed to work alongside classic mods from the same Minecraft version. Some versions include special compatibility features like water-planted rice and bonus recipes when paired with other mods.
Why isn't my stove cooking anything?
Make sure you have a heat source directly underneath the cooking pot or skillet—the heat source must be touching the bottom of the vessel. Also check that you've placed valid ingredients for the recipe you're attempting.
Can I store cooked meals in the storage blocks?
Yes, kitchen counters, pantries, and wooden cabinets function as decorative storage and can hold any items, including cooked dishes and ingredients.
What's the best way to set up a farm with this mod?
Plant your crops on rich soil for faster growth, place your kitchen setup nearby with a stove and cutting board, and use storage cabinets to organize your harvested ingredients and finished meals.
