Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install this mod myself or does another mod handle it?
Fabric Kotlin Extensions is a library mod that other mods depend on—you only need to install it if a mod you're using requires it. Check your mod's dependencies to confirm; if required, place it in your mods folder alongside your other mods.
What's the difference between Kotlin Scripting JVM and Kotlin Scripting JVM Host?
Kotlin Scripting JVM provides the core scripting engine, while Kotlin Scripting JVM Host supplies the runtime environment to execute those scripts. Both work together to let you run Kotlin code dynamically during mod development.
Can I use this mod to write scripts that modify my world or mods?
This mod provides the tools for mod developers to write Kotlin scripts as part of their mod code, not for players to script in-game. If a mod built with this library supports scripting features, you'd use those features through that mod's interface.
Why would a mod developer use Tiny Remapper and Mapping IO from this mod?
These tools help developers remap obfuscated Minecraft code to readable names during mod development, making it easier to reference Minecraft's actual code structure. This is essential for building mods that work across different Minecraft versions.
