How do I start the Biomorphosis Mod?
Craft a Lure Campfire and place it on the ground, then fill it with Flesh Blocks and light it with Flint and Steel. A Queen boss will appear—defeat her to unlock your hive. After that, craft the Guide item to learn how to grow your colony.
Where do I get Flesh Blocks for the campfire?
Flesh Blocks are found naturally in the world or can be harvested from defeated creatures. You can also find them in Insect Villages or generate them through your colony's organic machinery once you've established your hive.
What happens if I die to the Queen boss?
You'll respawn at your spawn point, but the Queen will remain in the world. You can gather more Flesh Blocks and attempt the fight again whenever you're ready—there's no time pressure or penalty.
How do I grow biomass for my colony?
Defeat creatures and harvest organic matter from the environment, or use your organic machinery to process resources into biomass. The mod is designed to let you gather at your own pace without forcing grinding.
What do the fluid transfer pipes do?
The fluid transfer system powers and strengthens your colony by distributing resources between organic structures. Connect pipes between your machinery and hive blocks to automate biomass processing and creature spawning.
Can I control what creatures spawn in my swarm?
Yes—as you progress and unlock Swarm Abilities, you gain more control over which creatures spawn and how your colony develops. The Guide item will show you which abilities you can unlock and how to use them.
Do I have to fight the insect villages or can I coexist with them?
You can choose your approach. You can raid villages for resources and biomass, or work toward becoming the leader of the Swarm and coexisting with the ecosystem you're building.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod is optimized for performance, but having many creatures and large organic structures active at once may impact frame rate depending on your system. Consider adjusting render distance or creature spawn rates if you experience slowdowns.
Does Biomorphosis work with recipe mods like JEI or REI?
Yes—the mod supports popular recipe and block-viewing mods out of the box, so you can use JEI, REI, or similar tools to look up crafting recipes and item information.
Can I undo changes to the world after the Swarm takes over?
Once biomes mutate and Insect Villages generate, those changes are permanent in that world. If you want to explore vanilla terrain, you'll need to venture far from your colony or start a new world.
