Frequently asked questions

How do I activate the free camera in third person?
Press the camera toggle key (check your controls menu for the Better Third Person keybind) while in third person view to detach the camera from your player's facing direction. Once active, moving your mouse rotates the camera independently of where your character is looking.
Why does my camera snap back behind my player?
The free camera is likely toggled off, or you're in first person where the mod doesn't apply. Make sure you're in third person and that the toggle keybind is actually enabled in your controls.
How do I walk sideways or backward without the camera turning?
With the free camera active, your movement keys are relative to the camera, not your character's body. Pressing strafe or back keys moves you in that direction while your view stays locked where you pointed it.
Can I still break and place blocks while using the free camera?
Yes. Your crosshair stays centered on screen and actions follow the camera's aim, so mining, placing, and using items work normally even when the camera is rotated away from your body.
