Sandstone

Sandstone is a block that players craft from sand. It breaks most efficiently with a pickaxe, and when broken it drops itself, so it can be collected and moved elsewhere.

Players use sandstone as a building material and as an ingredient in a dozen different recipes, which makes it a handy block to keep in stock for crafting.
