Use the grave as a marker

The grave itself is your best locator. Because it is placed where you died, returning to it means returning to your death point. If you noted your coordinates before dying, travel there directly. If not, retrace your route from your last known position, base, or waypoint.

Recover the death ID or record

Some versions of the mod keep a record of each death, sometimes called a death ID, which is used to link a grave to a specific death event. This matters when multiple graves exist or when a grave fails to appear. You can find this information in the mod's saved data or through any command the mod provides for listing or locating graves. Check the mod's command list in-game, since commands are the reliable way to query grave data rather than guessing.

Practical tips

  • Write down coordinates the moment you die, before respawning.
  • Keep a bed or respawn anchor near your base so you respawn close to your gear.
  • If you play with others, tell them your death coordinates so they can guard or retrieve the grave.
  • In dimensions like the Nether, remember that overworld coordinates do not map directly, so convert before traveling.
