10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I get my items back from a Gravestone?
Walk up to the grave block and interact with it to open the container, then move your items back into your inventory. If the grave is empty, check whether another grave spawned nearby or whether your death dropped items normally instead.
How do I open a grave?
Right-click (or use your interact button) on the grave block while standing next to it. If it won't open, make sure you're the owner or that grave protection/ownership settings aren't locking you out.
How do I find my death location?
Use the mod's death location or obituary feature, which records where you died and can point you back to the grave. If you enabled coordinates in your world settings, the recorded position will match your death spot.
How do I find my death ID?
Each grave is tied to a death record, and the obituary or grave interface shows that identifier along with the death cause and time. Use it to tell multiple graves apart when you've died more than once.
What happens to my items if I die again before recovering the old grave?
A new grave spawns for the new death, and the old grave stays where it was with its contents intact. You can recover them in any order, though graves may eventually despawn depending on your configuration.
Why is my grave missing or empty?
Common causes are dying in lava or the void, dying outside the world border, or a config setting that removes graves in certain dimensions. Check your grave configuration and whether the death happened somewhere a grave can't be placed.
Does this mod work on Bedrock or MCPE?
The Java Edition mod and Bedrock addons are separate projects with different features and behaviors, so a Java tutorial won't always match Bedrock. On Bedrock, look for a gravestone addon and check its own documentation for how graves spawn and open.
Is the Gravestone Mod compatible with other death or inventory mods?
It generally conflicts with mods that also handle death drops, like keep-inventory or corpse mods, because both try to manage your items. Disable the overlapping feature in one of them to avoid items being duplicated or lost.
How do I craft or place a Gravestone myself?
Graves are normally created automatically on death, but the mod also adds grave blocks you can craft and place as decoration. Check the crafting and blocks sections of the wiki for the exact recipe and placement rules.
