Enhanced Portals 3 Mod — Guide

The Dimensional Bridge Stabilizer (DBS)

The Dimensional Bridge Stabilizer is the heart of any portal network. It is a multiblock structure that stores the energy required to keep portals active and manages the connections between them.

Construction

To build a DBS, you must place Stabilizer Blocks in a solid rectangular shape. The minimum size is a 2x3x2 structure (12 blocks), but it can be expanded to store more energy. Once the blocks are placed, right-click any block in the structure with a Wrench to initialize it. The structure will transform into a single functional unit.

Functionality

  • Energy Storage: The DBS accepts Redstone Flux (RF) or Energy Units (EU). It is required for cross-dimensional travel and long-distance connections.
  • Location Cards: To link a portal to a DBS, insert a Location Card into the DBS GUI to 'program' it with the stabilizer's coordinates. This card is then used on a Portal Controller to provide that portal with power.

Portal Modules

Modules are inserted into the Module Manipulator to grant portals special properties. Multiple modules can be used simultaneously.

Module Effect
Particle Destroyer Completely removes all portal particles for a cleaner look or reduced lag.
Rainbow Particles Causes the portal to emit multi-colored particles.
Portal Silencer Removes the ambient humming sound of the portal.
Portal Cloaking Makes the portal block itself completely invisible.
Feather Fall Negates all fall damage for entities exiting the portal.
Momentum Entities retain their velocity when passing through the portal.
Dimensional Required for the portal to connect to different dimensions (Nether, End, etc.).

Mechanics & Dialing

Unique Identifiers (UID)

Every portal can be assigned a Unique Identifier, which acts like a phone number. UIDs consist of a sequence of icons (e.g., Diamond, Nether Star, Apple).

  1. Public Portals: Can be dialed by any Dialing Device if the UID is known.
  2. Private Portals: Can only be connected to via specific Network Identifiers.

Creating a Connection

To link two portals: 1. Build two portal frames, each with a Portal Controller. 2. Link both controllers to a powered DBS using Location Cards. 3. Set a Unique Identifier on the destination portal. 4. Use a Dialing Device on the origin portal to dial the destination's UID.

Resource Transport

By placing Portal Interfaces (Item, Fluid, or Energy) into the frame of both the sending and receiving portals, you can automate the transfer of resources across dimensions. Items piped into an Item Interface on one side will be ejected from the Item Interface on the connected side.
