What Autunite Is For

Autunite is a uranium-bearing mineral added by Create Nuclear. It generates as Autunite and Layered Autunite in the world, and it can be mined and processed like other uranium sources. Beyond its role as an ore, Autunite has a full decorative block family, which makes it useful for building reactor rooms that actually look the part instead of being a wall of grey casings.

Craft the Decorative Variants

Once you have Autunite in hand, you can craft Cut Autunite, Polished Cut Autunite, and Small Autunite Bricks. Each of these has a full set of slabs, stairs, and walls — Cut Autunite Slab, Cut Autunite Stairs, Cut Autunite Wall, and the same for the polished and small-brick variants, plus Cut Autunite Bricks and Small Autunite Bricks as full blocks. Autunite Pillar is a vertical decorative block useful for framing doorways or marking reactor corners. Mix these with Reinforced Glass so you can see your core while staying protected.

Build a Safe Reactor Room

Use Autunite blocks for flooring and accent walls, Reactor Casing for the functional shell, and Reinforced Glass for viewing windows. Keep decorative blocks outside the reactor's functional footprint — they do not cool or shield, they just look good. Pair the room with a Reactor Alarm on the wall and a chest of spare Anti Radiation gear near the door.
