How to Get Started with Create Nuclear: Ore to Fuel

Mine the Right Ores

Create Nuclear adds several new ores to the world: Uranium Ore, Thorium Ore, Lead Ore, and Nitrate Ore, each with deepslate variants. Uranium and Thorium are your fissile materials; Lead is used for radiation shielding and casings; Nitrate feeds into processing chains. Bring an iron pickaxe or better and mine full stacks — you will burn through ore faster than you expect once the reactor is running.

Process Raw Materials

Raw Uranium and Raw Thorium can be compressed into Raw Uranium Block and Raw Thorium Block for storage, or processed further into Uranium and Thorium ingots/items. Lead follows the same pattern with Lead Block and Raw Lead Block. Nitrate Ore feeds into the mod's chemistry — you will need Nitrogen and Cooled Nitrogen Concentrate for cooling and processing steps. Coal Dust is another input you will want on hand. Use Create's mechanical processing (crushing wheels, mixers, presses) to convert raw ore into usable forms rather than doing it by hand.

Stockpile Before You Build

Do not start a reactor the moment you have a few ingots. Gather enough fuel for several cycles, enough Lead for casing and shielding, and enough coolant ingredients to keep the core stable. A reactor that runs out of coolant mid-cycle is how you get a Nuclear Explosion — and that is a very bad day.
