Create Nuclear FAQ

Mine uranium, thorium, lead, and nitrate ores, then process them through Create's crushing, washing, and mixing to produce reactor fuel. Follow the ore-to-fuel chain before building a reactor, since you need fuel rods and reactor components ready first.

Assemble a Reactor Frame and Reactor Casing shell, then place the Reactor Core, Reactor Controller, Reactor Cooler, and Reactor Input/Output blocks in the correct pattern. Connect fluid inputs for coolant and a rod input for fuel, then start it slowly and watch the controller for heat and radiation readings.

The reactor blueprint is the layout of frame, casing, core, controller, cooler, and input/output blocks that the mod validates when you place the controller. If the controller doesn't activate, a block is missing, misplaced, or the wrong type for that position.

Keep coolant flowing through the Reactor Cooler and Reactor Fluid Input at all times, and don't overclock the core beyond what your cooling can handle. If temperature climbs past safe levels, cut the fuel rod input and let the cooler bring it back down before restarting.

Wear a full Anti Radiation set (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots) — the colored cloth variants work the same as the default set. Keep distance from active reactors and irradiated mobs, and avoid standing in irradiated biomes without protection.

It removes radiation from an irradiated area, letting you reclaim land after a leak or explosion. Place it in the affected zone and let it run; it's the main cleanup tool alongside letting radiation decay naturally.

Stay out of the blast zone until radiation drops, wear full Anti Radiation gear when you go in, and run Biome Irradiation Extractors to speed up decontamination. Irradiated animals (cats, chickens, cows, wolves) in the area also need to be dealt with or avoided.

Autunite is the decorative stone family — blocks, bricks, slabs, stairs, walls, pillars, and polished variants — used to build reactor-themed structures. It's cosmetic, not a fuel source, so don't grind it expecting reactor fuel.

No — Create Nuclear is a Java Edition mod built on Create, and Create itself is Java-only. Bedrock players can't run it, and there's no official Bedrock port.

It generally plays fine alongside other Create addons since it hooks into Create's processing and fluid systems, but overlapping ore or fluid registrations can conflict. Active reactors with lots of fluid and heat updates are the main performance cost, so keep reactor setups compact and avoid running many at once.
