How to Tame and Ride a Grottoceratops

The Grottoceratops is one of Alex's Caves' prehistoric mounts. It's a large horned creature that spawns in the mod's cave biomes, and it can be tamed and ridden once you know the trick.

Finding and Taming

Grottoceratops spawn in the prehistoric cave biomes. To tame one, you need to feed it the correct food item — the mod uses a specific treat for this, so check the item's tooltip or the mod's in-game guide for the exact food before you go hunting. Approach slowly; the creature is large and can knock you back if startled.

Riding and Control

Once tamed, right-click the Grottoceratops with an empty hand to mount it. While riding, you steer with the standard movement keys and can jump. The mount is useful for crossing the rough terrain of the cave biomes quickly and for reaching ledges you couldn't climb on foot. Dismount with the sneak key. Keep in mind that other hostile mobs in the biome will still target you while mounted, so bring armor and a weapon for the trip.
