How to Get Started with Abyssmarine Blocks

Abyssmarine is a dark, aquatic-looking building material added by Alex's Caves. It comes in a full family of shapes, so once you have the base block you can build almost anything with it.

Obtaining Abyssmarine

Abyssmarine generates naturally in the mod's ocean-themed cave biome. Look for the distinctive dark blue-green stone on the walls and floor of those caverns. Mine it with a pickaxe and bring it home in bulk, since you'll want a lot for building.

Crafting the Full Set

Take your raw Abyssmarine to a crafting table and convert it into the various forms: Abyssmarine Bricks, Abyssmarine Tiles, and Abyssmarine Pillars. From Bricks and Tiles you can then craft the matching Slabs, Stairs, and Walls using the standard stonecutter or crafting recipes. Abyssmarine Pillars are made by stacking the base block in a vertical recipe pattern. The set is popular for underwater bases and dark-themed builds because the color palette is consistent across every shape, so plan your build around the block variants you can actually produce.
