Amber is the mod's signature resource, and you'll find it inside the prehistoric cave biomes rather than in normal overworld stone. It appears as orange, translucent blocks embedded in the walls and floors of those biomes, often clustered near
Ancient Leaves and fossil-like structures.
Locating Amber
Explore the mod's cave biomes and watch for the warm orange glow of
Amber
blocks against the darker stone.
Amber Monoliths are larger formations worth seeking out because they yield more material per trip. Bring plenty of torches or a light source so you can spot the translucency from a distance.
Mining and Uses
Use an iron pickaxe or better to harvest
Amber; lower-tier tools won't drop it.
Amber Curiosity items can also be found and are worth collecting for their own purposes. Once you have a stack,
Amber feeds into the mod's
crafting and decorative recipes, and it's a common ingredient in progression chains tied to the prehistoric content. Store it somewhere safe before you dive deeper, since the biomes that contain it are also home to hostile mobs like the Grottoceratops and Deep Ones.
