The Block Family

Each gemstone has a full decorative set: Crystal Blocks, Crystal Bricks, Crystal Pillars, and Schist variants, plus slabs, stairs, and walls for most of them. Crystal Blocks have a translucent, gem-like look, while Schist is a matte stone that pairs well with vanilla deepslate and stone bricks. Crystal Pillars are great for columns, doorframes, and vertical accents.

Crafting the Pieces

Start by crafting a Crystal Block from your shards or ingots — the wiki's Processes page lists the exact ratio. From there, Crystal Bricks are made by arranging Crystal Blocks in a 2x2 grid, and slabs, stairs, and walls follow the standard vanilla shapes using the corresponding base block. Pillars are typically crafted from two blocks stacked vertically. If you are short on shards, prioritize Crystal Bricks since they stretch a single block into four and give a more textured surface.

Design Ideas

  • Use Crystal Blocks as glowing floor tiles in a beacon room.
  • Line a staircase with Crystal Bricks Stairs and matching Slab landings.
  • Frame a doorway with Crystal Pillars and top it with a Crystal Bricks Wall for a grand entrance.
  • Mix Ametrine Schist with Aquamarine Schist for a two-tone stone wall.

Because these blocks are non-flammable and blast-resistant like stone, they work well for both builds and functional bases.
