What Pages Are

Pages are the content packs that define a character's appearance, lines, and branching story. The mod ships with some, and you can add more to expand who you can talk to and what happens. Each page belongs to a specific mob type.

Installing and Selecting Pages

  • Place page files in the mod's pages directory, following the folder structure the page expects.
  • Restart the game so the mod detects the new content.
  • In the config or in-game menu, select which page is active for each mob type.
  • If two pages target the same mob, only the selected one runs.

Writing Your Own Dialogue

Pages use a script format with labels, lines, and choices. A line shows text and a portrait; a choice presents options that jump to other labels. Keep labels unique and make sure every choice points to a label that exists, or the scene will break. Test small changes one at a time.

Troubleshooting Custom Pages

If your page does not appear, check the folder name and file extensions. If it loads but crashes, look for a choice pointing to a missing label. Back up working pages before editing so you can restore them quickly.
