Locate Shadow Settings

Open shader configuration (pause menu → Options → Video Settings → Shaders → shader config). Find options labeled Shadow Direction, Time of Day, or Sun/Moon Position.

Adjust Shadow Angle

Some shader packs allow you to manually set shadow direction independent of time. This lets you:

  • Cast shadows from a specific angle for aesthetic screenshots
  • Simulate different times of day without waiting
  • Create dramatic lighting for builds

If a slider exists for this, adjust it to rotate shadow direction around your world.

Sync with Day-Night Cycle

Most settings default to following Minecraft's natural day-night cycle. Shadows automatically shift as the sun and moon move. You can typically toggle this behavior on or off—useful if you want fixed lighting for creative work.

Preview Changes

Adjustments apply instantly. Use this to test different shadow angles before committing to a particular aesthetic for your build or screenshots.
