Why Performance Drops
LB Photo Realism Reload swaps vanilla textures for high-resolution photographic imagery. That means every block face, item icon, and environmental element is a much larger image, so VRAM usage and texture-atlas size climb sharply. Stuttering usually comes from the GPU running out of video memory or from the pack being reloaded repeatedly.
Immediate Fixes
- Lower your render distance and simulation distance first; fewer loaded chunks means fewer unique textures resident at once.
- Reduce Mipmap Levels in Video Settings. High mipmaps multiply memory cost for large textures.
- Turn off Fancy graphics options you do not need (clouds, fancy leaves) to free GPU headroom.
- Allocate more RAM only if you see Java garbage-collection stutter, not GPU stutter — more RAM will not fix VRAM limits.
Reducing Reload Hitches
Press F3+T sparingly. Each resource reload re-uploads the whole atlas. If you frequently toggle packs, do it from the title screen instead of mid-game. On very weak hardware, consider running the pack only for screenshots and switching back to vanilla for normal play.
