How do I get started with Project Red Expansion?
Start by crafting a Project Bench, which is the core crafting station for this mod's components. From there, build a Charging Bench and a Battery so you have a way to store and distribute power to your machines.
How do I power the machines in this mod?
Most devices run on electricity stored in Batteries, which you charge at a Charging Bench and then place or connect to your machines. Battery Boxes let you pool stored charge so several devices can draw from the same supply.
What is the difference between a Battery and a Battery Box?
A Battery is a single portable power storage item you can charge and carry. A Battery Box is a block that holds and distributes power to connected machines, acting as a central energy buffer.
How does the Auto Crafter work?
The Auto Crafter performs crafting recipes automatically when it has the right ingredients and power. You define what it should craft using a Recipe Plan, which you set up with the Project Bench.
What is a Recipe Plan and how do I use one?
A Recipe Plan is an item that stores a crafting recipe you've encoded, typically made via the Project Bench. Insert it into an Auto Crafter so the machine knows what to produce.
How do Pneumatic Tubes move items?
Pneumatic Tubes transport items between inventories when connected in a network, and you can route them with Transposers to control direction and filtering. They need to be linked properly to the source and destination containers to function.
What does the Deployer do and how is it different from a Block Breaker?
The Deployer acts like a fake player, using items such as tools, bonemeal, or buckets on blocks in front of it. The Block Breaker simply mines the block it faces, making the two complementary for farms and automation.
How do Frames, Frame Motors and Frame Actuators work together?
Frames form a movable structure, Frame Motors push or pull that structure in a direction, and Frame Actuators control when the movement happens. Together they let you relocate machines or build moving contraptions.
Why isn't my Auto Crafter or machine doing anything?
The most common causes are no power (check your Battery or Battery Box charge), a missing or incorrect Recipe Plan, or missing ingredients in the input. Make sure the machine is also receiving a redstone signal if it requires one to run.
Does Project Red Expansion work with other tech mods and is it laggy?
It is designed to work alongside other Project Red modules and generally coexists with common tech mods, though power systems are not always interchangeable between mods. Large networks of Pneumatic Tubes or many moving Frames can cause lag, so keep tube runs and frame contraptions reasonably sized.
