Craft the Arms Dealer Workstation first, since it's the core block for making guns, ammo, and attachments. From there, craft a basic firearm and matching ammunition, then use the workstation to keep yourself supplied.

The recipe is shown in JEI/REI once you have the mod installed, so look it up there rather than guessing. Place the workstation down and interact with it to open the gun-crafting interface.

Craft ammunition in the correct caliber for your weapon, then load it into the gun using the reload key or by interacting with the magazine. Aim and right-click (or your fire key) to shoot; check your keybinds if nothing happens.

The most common causes are an empty magazine, the wrong ammunition caliber, or a gun that needs to be reloaded rather than just having ammo in your inventory. Make sure the ammo type matches the caliber listed on the weapon.
