Crafting the Insanium Paxel

The Insanium Paxel combines the functions of an axe, pickaxe and shovel in a single tool. It is produced through the cucumber:shaped_transfer_damage recipe type, which means the durability of the input tools is carried over into the finished Paxel. Gather an Insanium Axe, an Insanium Pickaxe and an Insanium Shovel, then combine them in the shaped transfer-damage recipe to receive one Insanium Paxel.

Because damage transfers, the Paxel inherits the wear of the tools you feed into it. Use freshly crafted tools if you want a full-durability Paxel, or accept the combined wear if you are recycling partially used gear.

Using the Paxel

Once crafted, the Insanium Paxel mines stone, dirt, wood and similar blocks without swapping tools. Right-click logs to strip them and right-click dirt or grass to make paths, exactly as the individual tools would. Keep in mind that the Paxel is one item, so a single durability pool covers all three jobs. Repair it with Insanium ingots or the appropriate repair material before it breaks, since losing it also loses the axe, pickaxe and shovel functions at once.

For everyday mining trips, carry the Paxel plus a dedicated Insanium Pickaxe for ore veins if you want to preserve Paxel durability. The Paxel shines when you are clearing mixed terrain where you would otherwise juggle three tools.
