Choosing the Timing Block
More Red does not use a single dedicated timer block. Build timing behavior by combining a
Pulse Gate with a
Latch. The
Pulse Gate emits a short output when it receives an input, and the
Latch holds a state until it is reset, so together they produce an on/off cycle you can drive from a clock source.
Building the Loop
1. Feed a repeating input into a
Pulse Gate.
2. Send the
Pulse Gate output into a
Latch.
3. Route the
Latch output back so it re-triggers the input path, or into the device you want to switch.
4. Use a
Diode in the feedback line to control how long each stage takes before the next pulse arrives.
Add more
Diodes in the feedback path to lengthen the interval. If you need the timer to alternate between two outputs, place a
Distributor after the
Latch and send each branch to a different destination.
Resetting and Gating
To stop the timer, break the feedback line or feed a reset signal into the
Latch. Use an
AND Gate to allow the timer to run only while a second condition is true, and a
NOT Gate to invert that condition when you need the opposite behavior.
