Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install MelonLib separately or does it come with other mods?
MelonLib is a library mod that must be installed in your mods folder independently. Other mods that depend on MelonLib will require it to be present, but won't bundle it automatically.
What's the difference between BlockDictionary and OreDictionary?
BlockDictionary groups blocks together by category (similar to how OreDictionary works for items), making it easier for mods to reference related blocks without hardcoding specific names. This is useful when you want to interact with any block in a category rather than just one type.
How do I use StackPredicates to filter items in my inventory?
StackPredicates let you test conditions on item stacks—like checking durability, NBT data, or item type—without writing custom code. You can chain predicates together to create complex filters for sorting, crafting, or automation systems.
Can StatePredicates check multiple block properties at once?
Yes, StatePredicates are designed to test block states directly in the world, allowing you to check properties like rotation, power level, or other state values simultaneously. This is more efficient than checking blocks one property at a time.
