Opening the Calculator

Craft the Item Calculator Craft and hold it. Right-click to open its interface. The left side is where you build the recipe you want to calculate; the right side shows the total raw materials you will need.

Adding a Recipe

Open your recipe viewer (JEI or REI) alongside the calculator. Find the item you want to craft and drag its recipe into the calculator's input slot, or click the recipe's transfer button if your viewer supports it. The calculator reads the recipe directly from the viewer, so you do not type ingredients by hand.

Setting the Output Amount

Once the recipe is loaded, change the target quantity to however many of the final item you want. The calculator multiplies every ingredient accordingly and, if an ingredient is itself craftable, it can expand that sub-recipe into its base components. This is the key feature: you get a shopping list of raw materials rather than a pile of intermediate items.

Reading the Results

Check the output panel for the total count of each base material. Use this list to decide how much to mine, farm, or buy before you start crafting. If a number looks wrong, verify the recipe was imported correctly and that the target quantity is what you intended.
