Prerequisite: A Recipe Viewer

The calculator integrates with recipe viewers. Make sure JEI or REI is installed and working, otherwise you have no recipes to import and the calculator has nothing to read.

Finding the Recipe

Open the viewer and search for the item you want to plan. Click the item to show its recipe. You should see the familiar crafting grid layout with ingredients in each slot.

Transferring to the Calculator

With the calculator open, use the viewer's recipe transfer control, or drag the recipe output into the calculator's input area. The calculator fills its grid with the same ingredients. If nothing transfers, close and reopen both interfaces so they register each other.

Handling Multiple Recipes

Some items have several recipes. Pick the one matching your available materials before importing, since the calculator will plan around whichever recipe you loaded.

When Import Fails

If an ingredient does not appear, it may be from a mod the viewer has not indexed, or the recipe uses a tag the calculator cannot resolve. In that case, add the missing ingredient manually or choose an alternate recipe. Verify the imported grid matches the viewer before trusting the totals.
