Frequently asked questions

How do I find oil in the world?
Use the Seismic Survey Tool to survey an area; it produces a Survey Result that indicates where oil is located.
How do I extract crude oil once I find it?
Place a Derrick over the oil deposit and a Pumpjack to pump Crude Oil out of it.
What do I do with Buckets of Crude Oil?
Process them in a Distillation Tower or High-Pressure Refinery Unit to separate them into products like Naphtha, Kerosene, Gasoline, Diesel, and Petroleum Gas.
How do I make Gasoline?
Refine Crude Oil in a Distillation Tower or High-Pressure Refinery Unit to obtain Buckets of Gasoline.
How do I make a Gasoline Bottle?
Craft it using a Bucket of Gasoline in a crafting recipe; the Gasoline Bottle can then be used as fuel.
How do I make a Molotov?
Craft a Molotov using a Gasoline Bottle; once thrown it becomes Molotov Lit.
What is Petcoke and how do I get it?
Petcoke is produced by processing materials in a Coker using the immersivepetroleum:coker recipe; it can be crafted into a Block of Petcoke or ground into Petcoke Dust.
What do I use Bitumen for?
Bitumen is used to craft Asphalt Concrete, which can be made into Asphalt Concrete Slabs and Asphalt Concrete Stairs.
How do I make Lubricant?
Refine Crude Oil to obtain Buckets of Lubricant; Lubricant can be stored in a Lubricant Can or used in an Automatic Lubricator.
What does the Automatic Lubricator do?
It is a block that applies Lubricant to nearby machines; place it and supply it with Lubricant to keep equipment running.
How do I store large amounts of oil or fuel?
Use an Oil Tank to store fluids in bulk, or an Expanded Fuel Tank for additional fuel capacity.
How do I build a Motorboat?
Craft a Motorboat using a Reinforced Hull, Icebreaker Bow, and Maneuvering Rudders; it can be placed on water and driven.
