Frequently asked questions

Do I need the base Exposure mod to use this?
Yes, Exposure Space Mod is an addon that requires the base Exposure mod to function. You must have both installed for astrophotography features to work.
How do I start taking pictures of space objects?
First, set up your camera with a telescopic lens attachment and equip the Space Filter. Point at the night sky during nighttime and use your camera as normal—the mod will detect real cosmic objects in their actual sky positions.
What's the difference between regular photos and space photos?
Space photos require the Space Filter attachment to capture correctly and must be developed in the dark room instead of a regular darkroom. Regular Exposure mod photos don't need these special conditions.
How do I know what cosmic events are happening tonight?
Craft and place a Night Analyzer block—it displays current sky events without cluttering your chat, so you can plan what to photograph without spam.
What do I do with developed space photos?
Use the Photo Analyzer Desk to scan your developed photos. It automatically adds them to your Cosmic Album, gives you rewards, and provides information like Wikipedia links and stories for each object.
Can I get photos of objects I missed?
Yes, high-level cartographers and wandering traders sell archival photographs, so you can fill gaps in your collection without waiting for the right conditions or objects to appear.
Do comets and planets actually move across the sky?
Yes, certain objects like comets and the ISS move in real time across the sky, so you may need to track them over multiple nights to photograph them successfully.
What are meteor showers and aurora storms?
These are special night events triggered by the mod that create rare, event-only cosmic sights worth photographing. They happen randomly, so use the Night Analyzer to catch them when they occur.
Do I need all five telescope lens tiers?
Higher tiers let you see fainter, more distant objects, so you'll need to progress through them to photograph the full range of over 200 cosmic objects in the mod.
Is there an achievement system?
Yes, the mod includes a full advancement tree tied to building your cosmic collection, giving you long-term goals as you hunt for and photograph space objects.
