Frequently asked questions
Where do I find mineral geysers?
Mineral geysers spawn naturally underground in both the Overworld and Nether biomes. Explore caves or dig down to find them erupting molten ore—they're typically visible as fluid fountains. Different biomes produce different ore types like Crimsite, Veridium, Ochrum, and Scorchia.
How do I extract ore from a geyser?
Place a Fracking Pylon directly over the geyser, then connect it to both a water supply and a source of rotational power (like a water wheel or motor). The pylon will pump molten ore into adjacent pipes for you to direct to refineries or storage.
What's the difference between Fluid Refineries and Distillery Towers?
Both process molten ores into pure metals and fuels, but Distillery Towers are multi-block structures that stack vertically and require temperature management with Radiators to function efficiently. Refineries are simpler single-block alternatives for basic processing.
Why isn't my distillery working?
Distillery Towers need proper heating or cooling via Radiators to reach the correct temperature for their recipe. Check that your radiators are powered and positioned correctly, and verify the input fluid matches the recipe requirements.
How do I cast ingots from molten metal?
Pipe molten metal into a Casting Depot, place a Mechanical Forge Mould inside it, and position a conveyor belt underneath to collect the cast ingots. The depot will automatically shape the fluid into solid items as it cools.
What are molten tool coatings and how do I apply them?
Molten tool coatings are special alloys that add a second durability bar and bonus effects to your tools and armor. Coat your equipment by directing molten alloy onto it in a Casting Depot or similar setup—the coating grants both protection and utility bonuses.
How do Mechanical Fluid Sieves work?
Sieves filter unwanted by-products from liquid ore streams and can be stacked vertically to increase filtering speed. Connect them in series along your fluid pipeline to purify molten ore before it reaches your refineries.
Do I need Combustion Chambers and Radiators?
Radiators are essential for Distillery Towers to maintain proper temperatures, while Combustion Chambers are optional but useful for generating high rotational stress when powered by refined fuel. Both help scale up your factory's power and processing capacity.
Can I use Paint Nozzles and Hoseguns for anything besides decoration?
Paint Nozzles and Hoseguns spray functional fluid gels that create bouncy, slippery, sticky, or burning surfaces on blocks. These coated blocks have real gameplay effects—bouncy surfaces launch players, slippery ones reduce friction, and burning ones deal damage.
What do Advanced Pumps and Plungers do?
Advanced Pumps transport liquids twice as far as normal pumps and can switch flow direction on demand for flexible piping layouts. Plungers remove leftover fluids from tanks and machines without breaking the blocks, keeping your factory clean and efficient.
