Frequently asked questions

How do I make a drill head?
Craft drill heads using their respective materials (wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond, or netherite) in the crafting grid—check the Crafting Recipes section on the wiki for exact layouts. Once crafted, attach the head to a tiered drill from Create by right-clicking the drill with the head in your hand.
Do drill heads work with the regular Create drill?
No, drill heads only work with Create's tiered drills. The standard Create drill cannot be upgraded with these heads, so you must use the tier-based drill variants instead.
Which drill head is fastest?
Gold drill heads are the fastest at 2x speed, followed by Netherite at 1.5x and Diamond at 1.33x. Use gold if pure speed is your priority, though it may have durability trade-offs.
How do I add Fortune to my drill?
Right-click your drill with Redstone dust to add Fortune I, Quartz dust for Fortune II, or Emerald dust for Fortune III. Each material stacks, so you can apply multiple enchantments to the same drill.
Can I get Silk Touch on a drill?
Yes, right-click your drill with Amethyst dust to add Silk Touch. This lets you mine blocks like ore and glass without breaking them into drops.
What's the slowest drill head and why would I use it?
Wood is the slowest at 2x slower speed, but it's the easiest to craft early game and lets you start using drill upgrades before accessing better materials. Use it as a stepping stone to faster heads.
Can I combine Fortune and Silk Touch on the same drill?
Yes, you can apply both Amethyst dust (Silk Touch) and Redstone/Quartz/Emerald dust (Fortune) to one drill. However, Silk Touch will take priority when mining, so you'll get the block itself rather than Fortune drops.
Do I need to remove a drill head to swap it for a different one?
Yes, you need to remove the current head before attaching a new one. Right-click the drill with an empty hand or use the appropriate removal method shown in your mod's interface.
Does this mod work with other Create add-ons?
This mod is designed to work alongside Create and its ecosystem. If you experience conflicts with other Create add-ons, check mod compatibility lists or update all mods to their latest versions.
What's the best drill head for mining ore?
Use Diamond or Netherite heads with Fortune III (Emerald dust) for the best ore drops, or swap to Amethyst dust for Silk Touch if you want to collect the ore blocks themselves for later smelting.
