Frequently asked questions

How do I make a Ceramic Bucket?
Craft an Unfired Clay Bucket from clay balls, then fire it in a furnace or kiln to turn it into a usable Ceramic Bucket. The unfired version will not hold any fluid.
Why does my Ceramic Bucket not hold water?
You are probably still holding the Unfired Clay Bucket. Only the fired Ceramic Bucket can carry fluids, so put the unfired one in a furnace first.
Can a Ceramic Bucket hold lava?
Yes, a fired Ceramic Bucket can pick up and place lava just like an iron bucket. This makes it useful early game before you have iron.
How is this different from an iron bucket?
It works the same way for carrying water and lava, but it is made from clay instead of iron. That means you can get one before mining iron, which is the main reason to use it.
Does the Ceramic Bucket break when I use it?
The fired Ceramic Bucket is reusable and does not break from normal use. Only the unfired version is fragile and must be fired before it works.
Can I use a Ceramic Bucket to milk a cow?
No. The Ceramic Bucket is for picking up and placing fluids like water and lava, not for milking. Use a normal bucket for milk.
Can I pick up water from a cauldron with it?
The ceramic bucket behaves like a regular bucket for fluid sources, so it can interact with water and lava sources. If a specific block does not accept it, fall back to a normal bucket for that task.
Why can't I craft the unfired bucket?
Check that you have enough clay balls and that you are using the correct recipe shape. If the recipe still will not appear, make sure the mod is actually loaded in your world.
Does this mod work with other bucket mods?
It generally coexists with other mods since it only adds its own items and does not replace vanilla buckets. Conflicts are rare, but if a recipe overlaps with another mod, one of them may take priority.
Will ceramic buckets cause lag or performance problems?
No. It is a small mod that adds two items and a simple firing process, so it has no meaningful impact on performance.
