Soul Sand is a block in Minecraft. It is dug with a shovel, and breaking it drops a Soul Sand block, so the block can be picked up and carried away intact.

Players who collect it can place it elsewhere or use it as an ingredient, since it appears in one recipe.

Natural generation

Biomes whose own feature list places this block, followed from worldgen/biome through placed_feature to feature. Blocks that the terrain itself is made of (stone, dirt, deepslate) come from the surface rules instead and are not listed here.

Placed by the worldgen feature ore_soul_sand.
