How to Unlock More Spell Slots and Upgrade Your Spellbook

Using the Inscription Table

The Inscription Table is the primary block for upgrading your spellbook. Craft it using Arcane Planks, Arcane Ingots, and a book. Place it down and right-click to open its interface. Insert your spellbook and the required materials — usually Arcane Essence, Arcane Runes, and sometimes specific mob drops like Ancient Knowledge Fragments. Each upgrade increases the number of spell slots your spellbook can hold. Higher-tier spellbooks (like the Ancient Codex) have more slots but require rarer materials.

Finding Upgrade Materials

Ancient Knowledge Fragments drop from Ancient Knights and can be found in catacomb chests. Arcane Essence is obtained by salvaging magical items at an Arcane Anvil or by defeating spellcasting mobs. Arcane Runes are crafted from Arcane Essence and other ingredients at an Arcane Anvil. Mithril Ingots, needed for high-tier upgrades, come from smelting Deepslate Mithril Ore found deep underground. Collect these as you explore dungeons and mine.

Managing Your Spells

With more slots, you can learn more spells from scrolls. Prioritize a mix: one or two damage spells, a utility spell (like Teleport or Healing), and a crowd-control spell (like Ice Tomb or Chain Lightning). You can reorder spells by opening the spellbook and dragging them. If you run out of slots, consider carrying a second spellbook for different situations. Remember that higher-level spells require more mana and may have cooldowns.
