Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks FAQ

Craft an Apprentice's Spell Book using Arcane Essence and other basic materials, then use it to cast your starting spells. You can also find spell books in dungeon loot or buy them from the Apothecarist.

Mana regenerates over time on its own, and you can increase your maximum mana and regen rate by equipping wizard armor pieces and certain curios like the Amulet of Concentration. Upgrading your spell book also raises your mana capacity.

You're probably out of mana, the spell is on cooldown, or you don't have the required spell slot unlocked. Check that the spell is assigned to an active slot and that you have enough mana for its cost.

Use the Inscription Table to upgrade your spell book, which unlocks additional spell slots as you progress. You'll need Arcane Essence and other materials to perform the upgrade.

Wands are one-handed and let you cast while holding something in your offhand, while staves are two-handed and generally offer stronger casting bonuses. Both can be crafted and upgraded, but staves usually scale better for dedicated casters.

Arcane Essence is obtained by salvaging spell-related items at the Arcane Salvage or by crafting it from Arcane Cloth and other arcane materials. It's the core ingredient for most spell book and wand recipes.

Place the Arcane Anvil and use it to upgrade gear, apply affinities, or combine arcane items. It works similarly to a smithing table but is specifically for spell-related equipment.

Mithril Ore generates deep underground, often in Deepslate Mithril Ore form, so you'll need to mine at low Y levels. It's used for higher-tier arcane crafting and gear.

Hostile spellcasters like the Cryomancer, Archevoker, and Cultist spawn in structures and the world, and they cast spells at range. Close the distance quickly, use cover, and bring ranged options or your own spells to interrupt them.

Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks is generally compatible with most mods, but overlapping magic systems or gear may cause balance or recipe conflicts. If you run into issues, check for duplicate items or conflicting loot tables and adjust configs as needed.
