Overview

Ash API is a library mod. It does not add blocks, items, mobs or world generation, and it changes nothing about how the game plays. Instead it sits underneath other mods and gives them one shared way of doing the handful of things almost every mod needs.

Minecraft mods are normally written against a specific mod loader, and the same feature has to be written twice if the author wants to support more than one. Ash API removes that duplication: a mod written against it asks Ash API for what it needs, and Ash API talks to whichever loader is actually running.

For a player this means one thing only — some mods list Ash API as a requirement, and they will not start without it. Once installed it runs silently in the background.

Frequently asked questions

What does FeyTweaks do to improve performance?
It speeds up rendering by changing how signs and beacon beams are drawn, such as skipping sign text once it is too far away to read. This saves frame time in crowded areas like market districts.
Does FeyTweaks need to be installed on the server?
No, it works purely on the client side. You only need it on your own game to see the rendering changes.
Do signs disappear entirely when I move far away from them?
No, the physical sign blocks stay visible. Only the tiny distant lettering is skipped.
What happens to glowing sign text outlines with FeyTweaks?
The glow text outline is dropped at a custom distance to reduce render passes, and it is replaced with a simple drop shadow for better speed.
