Why you would want to filter leaves
Some players love the effect under oak forests but find it distracting near their base, in snowy biomes, or around certain tree types. Falling Leaves supports configuration that lets you control where particles appear, so you are not stuck with an all-or-nothing toggle.
Using the config filters
Open the Falling Leaves config file in your instance's config folder. Look for the sections that list biomes and/or leaf or log block types. These act as filters: entries you add to a blacklist-style list will stop particles from spawning there, while a whitelist-style list does the opposite and only allows the effect in the places you name. Identify the biome IDs or block IDs you want to exclude — you can find biome IDs by pressing F3 and reading the debug screen while standing in the biome.
Testing your changes
Save the file, then walk through the affected area. Particles should stop appearing under the excluded trees while continuing elsewhere. If nothing changes, double-check that you used the correct ID spelling and that you edited the right list (blacklist versus whitelist). Because this is a client-side mod, your filters only affect your own view — other players on the server still see their own settings, so you can customize freely without asking anyone's permission.
