Reactor Basics
A reactor in Create: New Age is built from
Reactor Casing,
Reactor Glass,
Reactor Rods, and a
Reactor Fuel Acceptor. The casing forms the shell, glass lets you see inside, rods hold the fuel, and the Fuel Acceptor is where you insert
Nuclear Fuel. You will also need
Reactor Heat Vents to manage temperature.
Assembly Steps
1. Build a sealed shell out of
Reactor Casing, leaving room for at least one
Reactor Glass window so you can monitor the interior.
2. Place
Reactor Rods inside the shell. These are where fuel sits and where heat is generated.
3. Attach a
Reactor Fuel Acceptor to the outside of the shell, aligned with the rods, so you can feed in
Nuclear Fuel.
4. Install
Reactor Heat Vents on the casing. These pull heat out of the reactor and into your cooling loop.
5. Connect
Heat Pipes from the vents to a
Heat Pump or radiator setup outside the reactor.
Safety and Operation
Never run a reactor without a cooling path. If heat builds up past what the vents can remove, the reactor will overheat and produce
Corium — a dangerous molten byproduct that spreads and is very hard to clean up.
Solid Corium forms when it cools. Always keep spare Heat Vents and a way to shut the reactor down (cut fuel input) before you start it up. Test with a small fuel load first.
