How to Set Up an Autocannon with an Autoloader

Building the Autocannon

Autocannons use a different assembly than standard cannons. Craft a Bronze Autocannon Barrel, Bronze Autocannon Breech, and Bronze Autocannon Recoil Spring, then weld them with the Cannon Crafting Wand into a working autocannon. The Bronze Autocannon Breech Extractor or Cast Iron Autocannon Breech Extractor is needed to cycle spent casings out of the breech — without it, the gun jams after the first shot.

Feeding Ammunition

Autocannons consume Autocannon Cartridges rather than loose powder. Fill Empty Autocannon Cartridges with propellant and a projectile (AP, Flak, or standard) to create Filled Autocannon Cartridges. Load them into an Autocannon Ammo Container and connect it to the breech — the container feeds rounds automatically as the gun cycles. For sustained fire, chain multiple containers or use a mechanical arm from Create to keep the container topped up. The Autocannon Cartridge Sheet and Big Cartridge Sheet are intermediate crafting items used to produce cartridges in bulk, so set up a small production line before you deploy the gun.
