Why You Need an Autoloader

Manually reloading an autocannon between bursts is slow. An autoloader uses Create's mechanical systems — belts, arms, and funnels — to feed cartridges into the breech automatically, letting you sustain fire.

Setting Up the Feed

Place an Autocannon Ammo Container adjacent to or above the breech. The container holds Filled Autocannon Cartridges and dispenses them as the gun cycles. Connect a mechanical belt or chute from your cartridge production line into the container so it refills without player input. Use a Brass Funnel or Smart Chute to control the flow rate — feeding too fast can jam the breech.

Extracting Spent Casings

The Bronze Autocannon Breech Extractor or Cast Iron Autocannon Breech Extractor ejects spent casings after each shot. Route these into a separate chest or back into your recycling system to recover materials. Without an extractor, casings accumulate and block the breech.

Timing and Redstone

Use a redstone clock or a sequenced gearshift to pulse the firing signal at the autocannon's cycle rate. Firing faster than the gun can cycle causes jams. Test with a short burst first, then increase the pulse frequency until you find the maximum reliable rate. Combine with a Cannon Carriage for a mobile, self-feeding emplacement.
