Propellant and Casings

Every round starts with propellant. Guncotton is the base explosive ingredient, and Congealed Nitro is a more potent variant used in heavier shells. Combine these with Empty Powder Charges or Empty Autocannon Cartridges at a crafting station to produce filled ammunition. Big Cartridges are used for full-size cannons, while Autocannon Cartridges feed the smaller rapid-fire guns.

Choosing the Right Shell

  • AP Shell / AP Shot: penetrates armor and blocks. Best against Block Armor and fortified targets. Use the Block Armor Inspection Tool to check whether your target is armored before firing.
  • HE Shell: explodes on impact for area damage. Good against groups and soft targets.
  • Flak Autocannon Round: airburst round that detonates near targets, ideal against flying mobs or players.
  • Bag of Grapeshot: scatters pellets in a cone — devastating at close range.
  • Smoke Shell: creates a Smoke Emitter cloud for cover.
  • Shrapnel Shell: releases a Shrapnel Burst on impact.

Fuzes

Fit shells with a Delayed Impact Fuze to detonate after penetration, or a Delayed Inertia Fuze for timed detonation after impact. The fuze choice changes how the shell behaves against different targets.
