Firing Process
Almost every functional item and block in Ceramics begins as an Unfired version. Unfired items (like buckets and armor) cannot be used and must be smelted in a furnace to become functional 'Fired' or 'Terracotta' versions. Unfired blocks can be placed in the world but will break instantly if they attempt to hold fluid.
Fluid Logistics
- Extraction: Use a Faucet on the side of a cistern or tank. It will pour fluid at a steady rate until the destination is full or the source is empty.
Transport: Channels act as open-topped pipes. They do not 'suck' fluid; they must be fed by a faucet. You can change the flow direction of a channel by right-clicking its sides with an empty hand.- Heat Sensitivity: Standard clay components (
Clay Buckets,
Clay Cisterns) are sensitive to heat. While they can hold lava, they will eventually crack or break. Porcelain components are completely immune to heat damage and should be used for long-term lava or molten metal storage.
